How much Renewable Diesel is in California?

A closer look into the changing market dynamics

As many of you know by now the blend of biomass-based diesel (Bio+RD) crossed over the 50% mark in California during Q1 of this year to 57% with RD carrying nearly all the growth with a blend of 49%. CARB will release Q2 data at the end of this month but many are wondering how much more RD has entered California as RD margins have dropped to under $30/bbl and could turn negative if the fuel does not reach a LCFS jurisdiction.
